Description:

Join Alley and WE NYC for a virtual panel with Alexandra Zatarain, Co-founder and CMO of Eight Sleep, Bertha Jimenez, Founder, RISE, Jas Maggu, Co-Founder & CEO, Galaxi.Ai and Brianna Carney, Co-founder of CrewBloom, exploring the different experiences of being a young female leader in a world where gender norms and biases exist. We’ll chat with our panelists about how this has impacted their leadership style and discuss the importance to lead with one’s values, setting a new standard of leadership expectations, and leading with empathy and compassion especially during times of crisis like the current one we are all facing.

Meet The Panelists:
Noelle Tassey
CEO
Alley

Noelle Tassey is currently the CEO of Alley. She has spent almost a decade working to scale growth-stage technology businesses, and launching new ventures. She also advises and invests in a variety of early-stage companies, and she is committed to building a more equal future through technology. Under her leadership, Alley has been named to Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies and Inc. Best Places to Work.

Alexandra Zatarain
Co-Founder, VP, & CMO
EightSleep

To date, the company has collected over 43 million hours of sleep data which have been used to design the ultimate sleep experience. She gives back as a mentor with Galvanize, WE NYC, and is an angel investor in female founded companies as a Cleo Capital scout.

Brianna Carney
CoFounder
CrewBloom

Brianna started her career at a startup firm which allowed her to understand how small companies scale. She moved to Amazon where she experienced the impact the global workforce can have on an organization. She began to question why more organizations weren’t taking advantage of the global talent pool. After leaving Amazon she spent a year traveling through Asia, which further motivated her to dive into the abundant resource of global human capital. She ended that trip in the Philippines, experiencing first hand the warmth of the people and culture. Upon coming back to the US, she started CrewBloom. With outsourcing and the call center industry being so well established she saw room for disruption and set out to connect better talent with roles they love. She met her cofounder Kate, initially brought on to oversee operations. Together they got to work implementing a more rigorous screening process to applicants and clients alike. CrewBloom now has access to the top 2% remote professionals in the Philippines and clients supporting a human-centric workplace. With leadership built on confidence and empathy, Brianna guarantees client satisfaction by taking care of her people. For her, preserving humanity in the workplace is crucial in a world that’s becoming more technology-focused by the minute, and that trust continues to be the recipe for her successful business. CrewBloom partnered with Time Doctor, a remote team tracking platform, that has helped them sustain a fully distributed team.

WENYC

Women entrepreneurs are key economic actors in New York City — building businesses that support families, uplift communities and generate jobs. WE NYC (Women Entrepreneurs NYC) is an initiative based out of the New York City Department of Small Business Services that is dedicated to helping women start and grow their businesses. While there are about 414,000* women entrepreneurs in NYC and women contribute approximately $50 Billion dollars annually in revenue, according to our research, men own 1.5 times the number of businesses, have 3.5 times the number of employees, and generate 4.5 times the amount of revenue. WE NYC has researched the reasons for this gender gap and developed tailored programs and tools with women entrepreneurs through user testing and intensive feedback efforts to create an initiative that connects women entrepreneurs with the resources, education and community they need to thrive.
